Their Watch Has Ended. Ours Has Just Begun.
Giving retired K9 heroes the peaceful home they deserve.
Working dogs spend their lives protecting our communities, serving beside their handlers and answering every call without hesitation. But when these heroes retire, most of the public is not aware that all agency funding for these K9 heroes is terminated. This leaves the handlers responsible for costly medical care, rehabilitation, and long-term support for the K9.
At K9 Sentinels of Hope (K9SOH), we believe retirement should never mean abandonment. We provide medical grant assistance, retirement transition support, advocacy and safe home placement resources to ensure retired working dogs receive the dignity, care and peace they earned through their service.
To honor the service and needs of our retiring and/or currently retired K9s by providing these heroes with transitional training from active duty to a civilian homelife, whether it is with their former partner or a new adoptive handler. To provide grants to help cover medical and care costs to law enforcement and military handlers that retain their K9 in retirement.
We believe every retired working dog deserves lifelong care, dignity, and a peaceful retirement after years of dedicated and loyal service.

Retired K9
Medical Assistance
Many retired law enforcement and military working dogs require ongoing medical care after years of service. Once retired, those costs typically become the responsibility of the handler alone — on a public servant salary.
K9 Sentinels of Hope provides medical grant assistance to help offset the financial burden of surgeries, medications, emergency treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term care for retired K9 heroes.
