K9 Loco

A second chance. A new purpose. A brighter future.

We had the honor of traveling to Texas to visit K9 Loco at the Prosper Police Department.

Loco was imported from Hungary and originally purchased by a police agency. Shortly after his being selected, he developed a medical issue. The agency removed K9 Loco from service before his career could even begin.

K9 Sentinels stepped in and rather than giving up on K9 Loco, we partnered with MKS K9 Services to save this young prospect.

After 10 months of treatment, care, and rehabilitation, Loco successfully recovered and returned to training proving his determined spirit.

His training, determination and skills paid off!!

Last week, K9 Loco graduated patrol school with the Prosper Police Department. We had honor and privilege of not only seeing him again, but to present him with a ballistic vest, which was generously provided by @project7armor to protect him while on duty.

What was once considered a career ending setback became a success story—a working police K9 protecting his community and proudly serving alongside his handler Officer Salvato.

Congratulations to the entire Prosper Police Department, K9 Loco, Dr. Amy and everyone who helped make this journey possible.
